The design problem statement is to create an extended family residence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that responds to the socio-cultural requirements of the Saudi family. My design solution involves:

• Keep the traditional mentality of the family while updating the design with modern functionality.
• Create a main community space with reception areas to set the tone for the compound.
• Situate living units on second floor to maintain hierarchy of space and privacy.
• Employ space planning techniques in order to create efficiency through layout and design.
